self-management techniques

A GLIMPSE OF SUSTAINABLE SELF-MANAGEMENT
Sisir Mazumder, Faculty(EE)-GNIT-Kolkata
The world is passing through a number of transitions and transformations , misconceived ideas and ideals, distorted values, and perversions in the ethical arena of life, in almost all spheres of human life, mainly in the social, political , economic and educational sectors. In these turbulent years of mindless killings, heinous crimes , financial and other corruptions, and scams and scandals, I, as a common man, would like to express a few viewpoints only to attract the attention of our younger minds to ‘the art of living life with happiness ‘ that would be simply perpetual , if honest attempts could be made.
I believe in the great words of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa that in every living entity lies the existence of the Almighty. However, the level of consciousness or realization of the purity of the Self in each being varies according to the cumulative effect of our past and present actions. That’s what is life, as it takes all to make a world.
Life as a physical existence is pure, blissful and indestructible. It has no beginning, and no end. Our sensory perceptions through the impact of sights and sounds make life so complex and troublesome. If we are not happy at this moment, we ourselves are responsible for that state of mind. It is the lack of realization ,of the Ultimate Reality , which causes feel unhappy.
At the root of all societal ills lies the insatiable thirst for pleasure of one kind or the other. The pleasures could be of infinite variety and magnitude. Pleasure could be in the deriving ego-satisfaction, recognition, sensual enjoyments, money, wealth, name, fame, power of using coercion etc.etc. The complexity of such pleasure-seeking life and its painful consequences could be dissolved and finished in a moment by enlightening our minds with true knowledge, a sense of renunciation and unflinching devotion to the Absolute Truth or God.
But here the predominant factor of human life will be FAITH and FAITH only. Faith holds the key to a happier life. But faith comes only through a series of experiences , feelings, meditative and intuitive wisdom. Faith, knowledge, devotion, duty, selflessness, compassion, humility, simplicity and honesty(truthfulness in words, deeds and timeliness) are the NINE PILLARS OF SELF-MANAGEMENT, which could make our lives a lot happier, a lot loftier and a great fun of unfolding ourselves in the ocean of self-realization, self-management and meaningful human networking.
