UT-2 Syllabus for CSE+FT 1st year students

As you are aware Unit Test-I will be held on 5th,6th and 7th of March,'12, You should prepare yourself thoroughly on the following topics only: DC Machines: Construction, Basic concepts of winding (Lap and wave). DC generator: Principle of operation, EMF equation, characteristics (open circuit, load) DC motors: Principle of operation, Speedtorque Characteristics (shunt and series machine), starting (by 3 point starter), speed control (armature voltage and field control) 6L Single phase transformer: Core and shell type construction, EMF equation, no load and on load operation, phasor diagram and equivalent circuit, losses of a transformer, open and short circuit tests, regulation and efficiency calculation. 4L

Take time to take decisions through objective analysis of various things that disturb you SLOW DOWN YOUR MIND... MOST OF THE FEARS ARE SEEN TO BE UNFOUNDED AND BASELESS... AND IMAGINARY... Fear of GATE exams!

Master the fundamental concepts as indicated in various questions of last 20 years, as given in a small volume like GATE-PAPERS(say EE etc) just in one week. Have a focus on the fundamentals only , as the questions are not tough but have one or two twists..... PRACTICE from the previous years questions for standard topics on ckt,control,PS,PE,Measurement and Maths(1st year Engg Math, Differential Eqn etc.) can give you a real boost in confidence...
