Greed and jealousy are the main paths leading to hell

The real peace of mind comes to those who have little or no desires in life. But we observe just the opposite in practice. The only way to fight greed and jealousy of others is being tough from day one. We should not have greed of any kind, and we should not allow others to be bold enough to exploit us for fulfilling their greed. Hence the art of living should be based upon least amount of material consumption so as to curtail our consumerist needs by over 50%, and then only could we feel relaxed in body and mind. The feeling of relaxation , happiness and mental peace can be achieved only by reducing our material needs which is artificially generated by the greedy business houses for extreme consumerist publicity about nonsensical and non-essential and unnecessary accessories of living a meaningful life...

The way to a truly meaningful and happy life is.....

maintenance of simplicity
,
humility,

worshipping knowledge,

worshipping our duties and responsibilities,

and finally

having unconditional devotion towards serving God...

God bless...

Self-improvement is a continuous process...

It may take almost a lifetime to evolve as a Balanced and Happy personality by adopting the following qualities:
P: Punctuality
S:Sincerity
D: Dedication

i.e. PSD is the self-assigned qualification of a genuinely good human being, he or she may not have a PhD...In practice PSD is much superior to PhD...as real-time need of the society is the dedicated service of a punctual and sincere citizen...

ABC of communication skills

A: Accuracy
B: Brevity

Some observations about Today's students

1. they are highly intelligent, but they rarely exert themselves to excel in anything;
2. they are very casual in approach,
3.they hardly pay attention to the finer details of their duties,
4. their lives are more fun-oriented,
5. instant fun is the fundamentally accepted nature of their lifestyles,
6. they have the general attitude of getting most by investing least of labour and hardwork

otherwise,
they are basically honest,
they are less harmful to fellow-beings,
and
they believe in 'live and let live' principles,
they are less crooked and less complicated with respect to the older generations

God bless all...

self-management techniques

A GLIMPSE OF SUSTAINABLE SELF-MANAGEMENT
Sisir Mazumder, Faculty(EE)-GNIT-Kolkata
The world is passing through a number of transitions and transformations , misconceived ideas and ideals, distorted values, and perversions in the ethical arena of life, in almost all spheres of human life, mainly in the social, political , economic and educational sectors. In these turbulent years of mindless killings, heinous crimes , financial and other corruptions, and scams and scandals, I, as a common man, would like to express a few viewpoints only to attract the attention of our younger minds to ‘the art of living life with happiness ‘ that would be simply perpetual , if honest attempts could be made.
I believe in the great words of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa that in every living entity lies the existence of the Almighty. However, the level of consciousness or realization of the purity of the Self in each being varies according to the cumulative effect of our past and present actions. That’s what is life, as it takes all to make a world.
Life as a physical existence is pure, blissful and indestructible. It has no beginning, and no end. Our sensory perceptions through the impact of sights and sounds make life so complex and troublesome. If we are not happy at this moment, we ourselves are responsible for that state of mind. It is the lack of realization ,of the Ultimate Reality , which causes feel unhappy.
At the root of all societal ills lies the insatiable thirst for pleasure of one kind or the other. The pleasures could be of infinite variety and magnitude. Pleasure could be in the deriving ego-satisfaction, recognition, sensual enjoyments, money, wealth, name, fame, power of using coercion etc.etc. The complexity of such pleasure-seeking life and its painful consequences could be dissolved and finished in a moment by enlightening our minds with true knowledge, a sense of renunciation and unflinching devotion to the Absolute Truth or God.
But here the predominant factor of human life will be FAITH and FAITH only. Faith holds the key to a happier life. But faith comes only through a series of experiences , feelings, meditative and intuitive wisdom. Faith, knowledge, devotion, duty, selflessness, compassion, humility, simplicity and honesty(truthfulness in words, deeds and timeliness) are the NINE PILLARS OF SELF-MANAGEMENT, which could make our lives a lot happier, a lot loftier and a great fun of unfolding ourselves in the ocean of self-realization, self-management and meaningful human networking.

Managing life well...how?

Whenever we find that we are much worried, the only cure is switching off of the mind or spending time with some of the chosen friends and well-wishers. As it is difficult to find good friends nowadays, the 1st method is the best one, as it only needs individual effort.
How to switch off the mind and go into deep meditation and get relaxed?
Say 'no' to each and every thought that comes to your mind, constantly and cleanse your mind of the external and internal thought-wave generators of any kind.

Negate the world and worldly thoughts...

You know that Nothing really exists except God...
God's blessings only can make us happy and peaceful.
When driven by desires, ambitions, greed for money and pleasure, and power, we land with up infinite no. of problems resulting into mental riot, worries, fear ....All these happen due to fuelling up of the beastly desires for excessive amount of money, greed for power of controlling the fate of others, and basic biological pleasures.

The best way to lead a happy life lies in maintaining honesty, integrity, fearlessness, and self-confidence about one's actions, one's duties and responsibilities.

The greatest problem of modern life is so called speed-living, and mindless carbon-emission for satisfying the beastly desires of some few people.

The slower the life, the happier the existence.
